Dickson Park is set beside a stream, surrounded by native bush and the old Tararu gardens, planted late last century by the settlers looking to beautify this thriving gold town. It is also the site of the remains of the Brown and Campbel gold processing stamper battery. Once a rich gold mining area, it is now one of New Zealand's most prosperous towns. Thames is the perfect base from which to explore the hundreds of beaches, walks and attractions of the Coromandel peninsula.

  Butterfly and Orchid Garden
Dickson Park is the home of New Zealand's only Tropical Butterfly House. Click the picture for more details. Visit this awesome tropical paradise, open daily 9:30am - 4.30 pm summer, . Closed for maintenance in  June, July & August each year.
   

 Dickson Holiday Park have available bike washing facilities, bike storage and a bike tool kit available for campers use. Also local knowledge on cycling in the area and easy access to the Hauraki Cycle Trail.

We are a popular stay for competitors in Coromandel Classic and K1 & K2 events, and family friendly for those looking for much gentler excursions!
